Flutter Guts (Gollum)
Flutter Guts, also known as Gollum, is a beginner-friendly variation of Guts that focuses on reaction time, hand-eye coordination, and catching skills. Like Guts, teams face each other and attempt to catch throws from the opposing team, but instead of powerful throws that can exceed 120 km/h, players use soft, fluttering throws that wobble unpredictably through the air.

How to Play
Flutter Guts, also known as Gollum, is a beginner-friendly variation of Guts that focuses on reaction time, hand-eye coordination, and catching skills. Like Guts, teams face each other and attempt to catch throws from the opposing team, but instead of powerful throws that can exceed 120 km/h, players use soft, fluttering throws that wobble unpredictably through the air.
The challenge isn’t throwing hard—it’s making the disc difficult to catch. Players experiment with unusual release angles and spins to create floating throws that change direction unexpectedly, forcing the opposing team to react quickly and work together.
Long-time Freestyle and Overall players often refer to this game as Gollum, while many Ultimate players know it as Flutter Guts. Although the names differ, the objective is the same: develop the catching, tracking, and reaction skills needed for Guts in a fun, safe, and accessible way.
